Phase 1 of MAPNA Group’s first wind farm project was inaugurated in Kahak, Qazvin province of Iran on 11th of August 2014.
During the inaugural ceremony at the site of the wind farm, MAPNA Group’s managing director, Dr. Abbas Aliabadi stated: “Kahak wind farm is Iran’s first 2.5MW turbine site and 11th of August 2014 marks going into operation of the first phase of Qazvin province’s 40 turbine site (100MW) project. Seven wind turbines have so far been installed in this site of which three have been synchronized and four units are about to be commissioned soon. The last unit is undergoing loading process.”
Dr. Aliabadi expressed the hope that the entire 100MW project will come on stream within a period of maximum two years.
MAPNA Group is scheduled to install the first 3.2MW wind turbines in Iran in the very near future.
According to MAPNA Group’s managing director, the company is now well prepared to carry out design, engineering, procurement of equipment, construction and operation of large wind farms.
The Iranian energy minister, Hamid Chitchian who was also present in the inaugural ceremony lauded MAPNA Group’s recent achievement and reported of the government and parliament’s support for the expansion of renewable energies in Iran.
