Seventh Int’l Rail Expo Kicks Off in Tehran

The seventh edition of International Exhibition of Rail Transportation and Related Industries & Equipment opened in Tehran on June 9th, 2019.
 
The 4-day expo is held in Tehran International Permanent Fairground.
 
Showcasing the latest technological achievements of the Iranian rail industry, promoting export of Iran’s rail products, featuring local companies, and introducing latest technological developments of the field are declared objectives of the event.
 
170 local and international companies have attended the exhibition in total.
 
MAPNA Group has also attended the seventh edition of the expo to showcase its capabilities in the rail sector.
 
MAPNA Group unveiled MAP24, its 3300-horsepower diesel-electric locomotive during this exhibition.
 
A freight locomotive, MAP24 is MAPNA Group’s latest rail product. Design and manufacture of bogie, cradle, braking system and cab were carried out locally for the first time in this project, based on state-of-the-art international technologies and standards.
 
The locomotive boasts a traction power 20 percent higher than products at the same class, and is internationally competitive.
 
EPC projects in underground rail system, repair and maintenance of rail vehicles, and electrification of rail lines were some of the major projects showcased by MAPNA Group during the expo.
 
MAPNA rail division subsidiaries, MECO and PARS represented MAPNA Group in the seventh International Rail Transportation Expo.
