Steam Cycle of Goharan Combined Cycle Power Plant Synchronized to the Grid

The steam cycle of Goharan (aka Gol Gohar) Combined Cycle Power Plant was synchronized to the national grid on 21:16, on Saturday, July 13, 2019.
With synchronization of this unit, MAPNA Combined Cycle Power Plants Construction & Development Company (MD-2) has now synchronized 95 units to the grid with an aggregate capacity of 14,583 MWs.
Gol Gohar Combined Cycle Power Plant
Gol Gohar Combined Cycle Power Plant is located 50 kilometers from Sirjan, Kerman Province.
Construction of the power plant is carried out under two EC (engineering and construction) and P (procurement) contract. MAPNA Combined Cycle Power Plants Construction & Development (MD-2) Company represents MAPNa Group in the project.
A 18.5-month deadline was set for synchronization of the first gas-fired unit, with two-month intervals for the next gas units to be synchronized. The steam cycle would be synchronized to the grid in 30 months. Provisional handover would take place two months after synchronization of the plant to the grid, and final handover 12 months after the provisional delivery.
The power plant consists of two combined power blocks, one of which has been delivered to the client.
The power plant includes four gas turbines each with a capacity of 166 MWs, two 160-MW steam turbines, one ACC cooling system, and a 400-kv power transmission line.
Gohar Energy Sirjan is the client of this project and Ghods Niroo Consulting Engineers Company serves as the consultant.
