MAPNA Locomotive Engineering & Manufacturing Company (MLC) has designed and manufactured its first mobile hydraulic puller. The new device is expected to expand MAPNA Rail Division’s market share.
MLC wheel and axle shop was in charge of developing the puller system. Modelling of the component was carried out following studies on mechanical component design, hydraulic circuit design, and static properties of the structure.
The maiden wheel disassembly trial testing carried out successfully after the final assembly stage. The new device completes the wheel-set overhaul chain in MAPNA Locomotive Engineering & Manufacturing Company wheel and axle shop. MLC is now capable of providing services in wheel, gear, and ball bearing replacement, gearbox repair, ball bearing overhaul, non-destructive testing, and wheel-set dimensional and geometrical analysis.
The mobile hydraulic puller helps MLC to increase its market share of wheel and axle overhaul services for a wide array of rolling stock running in Iran’s rail transportation system including freight and passenger locomotives, and self-propelled train sets.
