Tehran Mayor Pirouz Hanachi took a tour of Metro Line 6 on Sunday, June 14, 2020.
Hanachi visited workshops operating in Ashrafi Esfahani, Yadegar-e Emam, and Marzdaran stations before attending a meeting with the project’s contractors afterwards.
CEO of MAPNA Rail Division briefed Hanachi on the company’s portfolio of products and services in the rail sector, which includes manufacturing locomotives and wagons, execution of EPC projects, and repair and rehabilitation of rail fleet.
“MAPNA Group rail division is carrying out projects for Tehran, Isfahan, and Karaj metro lines,” Babak Ahmadi said.
“MAPNA has gone full throttle in Tehran Metro Line 6 project,” he added. “We hope new phases of the project come into operation this year if the required financing is achieved.”
Tehran Mayor praised the performance of contractors and consultants of Line 6 project during his remarks. Hanachi called construction of the underground transportation system “a national endeavor” which helps solve Tehran’s traffic and pollution problems.
Acknowledging financial difficulties with the project, he expresed hope that hurdles would be removed via Iran’s Central Bank and project bonds.
“We promise to solve Line 6 problems as soon as possible to speed up operation of the line,” he added.
A delegation of municipality officials from Tehran Urban & Suburban Railway Operation Company and municipality-funded Shahr Bank accompanied Hanachi in this visit.
CEOs of MAPNA Rail Division and MAPNA Railway Construction and Development Company were also present at the meeting.
Tehran Metro Line 6
Tehran Metro Line 6 project is carried out by a consortium that includes MAPNA Group, Shahr Bank, and Sabir International Company.
The 32-km metro line comprises 27 stations.
Line 6 is equipped with 25 mid-tunnel ventilation shafts and six interchange stations. The first phase of the project is carried out across a 10-km route with 4 stations currently under operation. The total physical progress of the project is 25 percent.
MAPNA Group’s scope of project includes supply of power system, SCADA, telecommunication systems, radio and telephone systems, passenger information system (PIS), and public address (PA) system, fire alarm system, access, closed-circuit cameras, and signalling system.
