MAPNA Receives FAC for First Steam Unit of Jahrom Plant

MAPNA Group received final acceptance certificate (FAC) for Jahrom Combined Cycle Power Plant Steam Unit I on September 12, 2020.
With final delivery of the unit, MAPNA Combined Cycle Power Plant Construction Company (MD-2) has now received FAC for 90 units with an aggregate capacity of 13,677 MWs.
About Jahrom Combined Cycle Power Plant
Jahrom Combined Cycle Power Plant project is carried out as part of the “Twenty-two Combined Cycle Plants” megaproject signed in 2002 between Iran Power Development Company (now known as Iran’s Thermal Power Plants Holding Company) and MAPNA Group.
The megaproject aimed to convert gas-fueled simple cycle power plants into combined cycle plants to increase power generation capacity and augment domestic capabilities to manufacture main equipment such as turbines, generators, and boilers.
Jahrom Combined Cycle Power Plant was the last batch of this project, with an overall capacity of 3*160 MWs.
As part of the government’s privatization program, the project was later handed to Jahrom Power Generation Company as the new owner.
Following the handover, the new client, a consortium comprised of Sepah Bank, Tejarat Bank, Post Bank and Mellat Broker Company, signed a new contract with MAPNA Group for completion of the project.
The plant is located 27 kilometers north of Jahrom, on the sidelines of Jahrom-Shiraz Road.
Three E-type steam turbines each with a capacity of 160 MWs and a 400-kv transmission substation have been installed by MAPNA Group.
Ghods Niroo Engineering Company serves as consultant of the project.
