MAPNA Wins Tender for Development of Ramin Oil Wells

MAPNA Group has won a tender to supply Ramin Oil Field, in Khuzestan Province, with three onshore drilling rigs to operate on seven wells.

The scope of the project includes rental services for three 2,000hp drilling rigs for drilling and completion of six new wells, along with the repair and completion of another well in the oil field.

The agreement has been finalized between MAPNA Drilling Company (MDCO), as the contractor, and Arman Construction and Productivity Engineers Company – a subsidiary of Persian Oil & Gas Development Company – as the client of the project.

According to Fazel Jamalzadeh, MDCO’s managing director, “as per the agreement, other ancillary services, such as core drilling, mud logging, pipe jacking, cementing and well testing will also be assigned to the drilling company.”

He added that the first drilling equipment with a working power of 2000hp will soon be positioned on the well No. 8 of Ramin Oil Field, to start the repair and maintenance services.

Noting that Ramin is one of the most complicated oil fields in Iran’s southwest in terms of geological structure and drilling risks, Jamalzadeh said, “the project is scheduled to be completed within 24 months.”

Ramin Oil Field, which spreads over 160 square kilometers, is located in the northeast of the city of Ahwaz and adjacent to Kupal, Maroon and Ahvaz oil fields.

As a subsidiary of MAPNA Group, MDCO is engaged in upstream oil and gas projects. Benefiting from the competitive resources available to its parent company, its sophisticated equipment and machineries and its professional human resources, MDCO is capable of planning and executing exploration, development and workover drilling operation to the highest level of quality and standard. The company is active in both onshore and offshore drilling projects as well as rendering drilling technical services.
